Try Before You Buy

It's a month and a half to our wedding day and though we are pretty much done with all the big stuff there are always small details demanding to be done. Fortunately I just finished my spring semester and am not taking summer classes. Unfortunately I need to send in my thesis pitches on Monday, bright and early. Guess what I'll be doing on Saturday.

In the spirit of multitasking, I have arranged to spend Mother's Day with both of my moms (mine and his) as well as his sister "trying out" hair and makeup, brunching and hopefully checking a few more wedding items off the list. I'm lucky that they are all good sports, and strangely seem to like being involved in all the details (really, who wants to trek two hours into the city to look at flowers or linens? Not me!)

Of course, then it hit me - I'm supposed to know how I want to wear my hair. If you know me, you know there is very little to my hairstyle. I wear it down mostly or tie it back if it is getting in my face. I hate my ears so I usually don't wear it up, but I feel like I should do something a little more special this time. A few months back on a whim I also cut some pretty ugly thick bangs that made me look about 300 lbs. They are still growing out, so I have that going for me as well.

A quick google search was very little help since every wedding style I found was a bobby-pinned, over-curled nightmare, but I did find something totally fun and distracting instead. DailyMakeover.com has this great tool where you can upload a picture of yourself and try on different hairstyles, some to hilarious effect. I must have spent an hour changing the length, color, adding highlight and lowlights. You can even try on celebrity do's, but the one thing I don't like about the site is that you have to pay for premium content. I didn't get to see how I'd look in Alexis Bledel hair because she is apparently too cool for me. This is me with Drew Barrymore hair.
Now I have a ton of fun ideas for future cuts and color, but alas I still have no idea what I am going to do at my hair trial on Sunday. Suggestions please? I still want to look like me - just a little more polished.
